Default Bavarian Crochet

Has anyone done it ? In my crochet class this the pattern our teacher is teaching us . I'm not sure if it appeals to me . I haven't bought the pattern book as it costs $14 & since I'm not sure if I want to crochet from it yet .

Oooh that's a pretty stitch, imo.
Looks a bit like shell stitch. You might want to try and see if your local library can get you a copy of the book on loan.

What I don't like about it is the ridges . My crochet teacher made a small afghan without the ridges & I liked it much better .

I think to make it w/o the ridges you insert your hook through BOTH loops of the previous row instead of just 1 loop.

FYI---I saw the book on Amazon for only $9-ish!

Yes, that is the way our instructor did it . She purchased the books through the school district .
