Default Latest Bargains

OK, these items were purchased over the summer. Not all at one time! But my wife and I have been out doing our share to help the economy.

We found two of these framed art at a thrift store for 99 cents. Other one is on the other side of the hutch.

Next three frames are from Pottery Barn. On sale for $4.99 each. I just added some wallpaper and cut outs instead of pictures.

McCoy pottery candle holder. Thrift store...49 cents.

Pictures in bedroom from TJ Maxx. Not on sale but I think they were $24.99 each.

USA/McCoy Pottery- 49 cents at thrift store.

TJMaxx vase. $4.99

Silver pumpkins from TJ Maxx..$7.99. Pears from Stein Mart--on sale and after coupons..$1.30 each. They are wood.

More silver pumpkins from TJ Maxx and the other two from dollar tree.

SteinMart Nina Campbell vase. On sale and with coupon...$4.00. Originally $35.

White vase from thrift store...29 cents

TJ Maxx picture. $10

Baskets..99 cents thrift store.

Martha Stewart blue cake stand. On sale and coupon...$5

OK, here is a really good deal. My wife loves dishes. I found these at a thrift store. They are Homer Laughlin china. I looked them up on replacement.com and they are $15 a plate and $25 for the platters. We paid 29 cents a plate and 50 cents for the platters. Also got some bowls and bread/salad plates. They are from the 1950's. My wife liked them because they look like the new Martha Stewart wedgewood china at Macy's. But a heck of a lot cheaper!

Goodwill pictures for the guest room. $5 each. Bedspread from Macy's. Martha Stewart collection. Had been $225. On sale and with coupons...$35!!

These are Cronin China. Thrift store..Again 29 cents for plates and 19 cents for bread/salad plates. Wife had to have them...replacements are around $12 a plate.

Double plate rack from TJ Maxx...$4 I sprayed it white.

Pheasant from SteinMart. $12..had been $50. Not sure why so high but I liked it because it matches the pheasant picture I found at Goodwill awhile back. We will put them out at Thanksgiving.

Had to start a new post. Too many pictures.

Pottery Barn linen pillow shams. $14.99 each. Had been $49.99 each.

Pottery Barn print and mat. Under $10 for both. Wife wants me to frame them and then put it out during winter. She has alot of cardinal stuff and it matches some dishes she has.

That is alot of junk! But we really didn't spend that much!!

I almost forgot my other good find. New in the box TiVo for $5.99 at Goodwill. All the stuff inside was still inside original packing. Only the box was cut and it looked like it was the proof of purchase for a rebate. I was excited about this one. We have TiVo in the living room but wanted it in the bedroom too.

Wow! What a fine collection of goodies. I love the wood pears and the pottery barn frames and the pheasant....I can't pick a fav!
You know what I noticed about your decorating most of all?. You do a terrific job of layering. One area in which I fail miserably.
Thanks for the fun post!

Nancy I couldn't believe they were McCoy. The people working there just put stuff out I think. They don't know what is good and what is not. I told you before to come to my house..we have a garage full of stuff you could go through!

CaseyMom thanks. I used to not care so much about the inside of the house, only the yard. But the older I get the more I enjoy it, especially when I can get nice stuff cheap.

Thanks Julie and Always.

I love your finds!

I love the McCoy pieces also.

I'm a basket person, so I love all baskets.

The china, did you buy a few pieces.....or enough to set a table?

I have a weakness for dishes, but I just don't have the room.....so I just have to pass on by anything I see.

For the most part, hubby doesn't shop with me.....but he has been known to find something he likes when he does. It's usually for his office or the cabin.

LOL, he bought a clock for his office for $10 at a small craft show. The guy was selling out his inventory and had it priced at over $100 at one time. Ummm, I decided to take it over.

Great finds but better still is how you place everything. You and your wife have a real knack for decorating and it's a pleasure to stroll through your house with you. Thanks for sharing. Now why can't I ever get deals like these??

Very, very nice finds, Odee. I'm convinced your thrift stores have a lot better prices than any of ours do. I'd never find anything decent for 49 cents. I think I need to make a trip to IN for some thrift store shopping!

You and your wife really do a great job of incorporating your new finds with your existing decor. I also love that both of you enjoy the shopping/decorating TOGETHER. Bravo!

OggieDaddy is the same way. He never used to care at all about the house, but now he loves helping me fix things up.

Niiiiiice! Can't believe your good finds. Thrift stores around here charge more for no name stuff than you paid!

Wish Carl had your interest and eye!

Thumbs up

Wonderful post! I loved browsing the pics!
Everyting so beautiful and tastefully placed,
I am envious of your creative eye.
I'll bet you and Mrs. Odee have a great time finding the lovely bargains, and placing them in just the right spots.
(love what you do to make them your own, that extra personal touch).
