Love the wood countertops.

Not so sure about the plate racks in front of the windows. Would make window washing day a tad bit awkward/more difficult than necessary.

Looks a fun and happy kitchen. Love the counters too. It would be nice to see the rest of the space.

I like it too.

I'd have my cleaning crew open the window/doors and get both sides from the outside.

I don't like the idea of table (or floor) lamps in kitchens. That doesn't seem safe to me.

Not my style but I've always loved these types of kitchens.

If it's an electrical safety issue, one would hope the lamps would be plugged into GFCI outlets--or it's incorporated into the circuit breaker itself.

The color combo kind of reminds me of a former client, who to this day terrifies me, so I can't really get with the red and green together (she had 5 different colors on her window trim alone, so this is actually tame in comparison). I do love the green, love the double doors and the transom, the tall windows... I'm in a holding pattern on my wood counter tops, but those are gorgeous! That pendant light is way cool!

I don't care for stainless at all, and while I love the plate racks, I don't think I'd like them in front of the windows... I like to see out, and cleaning would be a pain.

bug. I'd love to see pics of your former client's house. I might just love it!

As for the safety issue with lamps, aside from the electricity factor, I think the fewer things that can get knocked over in kitchens the better.

We don't have any pictures, that I know of. Jamie had to walk off the job with her owing $$$$... She was certifiable... The dining area of the kitchen was peach and teal green (I didn't work there long before we left, so I'm trying to remember), I think teal on the bottom, peach on top, teal and purpley plum... something else around the windows. Kitchen was the plum (upper wall), darker peach on the island... blue tiles on the counter top and back splash... She wanted a Star of David in marbles behind the stove... The dining room was lighter plum on top/darker on the bottom... teal trim (door facings, crown, baseboards... The windows were all trimmed out in teal, the lighter plum, the darker plum, burgundy? and another color... I think the living room had the dark plum on the bottom, and she actually left it cream up top, but with the multi-colored trim. Her bedroom was pink and burgundy... Her guest bath, I actually kind of liked, tho it was the pits to paint, firecracker orange with black trim... The shower tho...!!! Jamie had gone shopping with her for tile... "Oh, I like this, I love that!!" 13 different tiles! brown and blue metallic... light blue ceramic "wave" tiles... starfish, fish... Jamie tried to get her to just pick a handful, but no... She fancied herself a designer. She was a kook! Jamie always said it looked like Pee Wee's playhouse. A strange lady, that one was... Sex therapist to the mentally challenged... (oh, the stories we could tell...)

Actually - it's the floor I don't like. I don't like this gray wood that is popular these days.

Adorable, and really charming. I love the plate racks in the windows- smart and room saving, and a cute "decoration."

LOVE the house as a whole... just not digging the teal and red... Otherwise, I'd take it!

I like just about everything about it (except those lamps, of course).

Not really my style.
Having lived with wood kitchen counters, I'd never ever ever ever want them again. Ever. Deal breaker for me.

Honestly, I don't like the colors they chose. I also hate their chairs. A restaurant we frequent used to have the same chairs and they were awful!

They stated spices above the range, but you wouldn't keep them there are you can't use the warming racks with slides there.

I have come back to look at this several times, and each time I find something that bothers me. The blue or green or whatever the color is bothers me. It is just the wrong shade with all the white and then that enormous island. I am guessing the table was shoved up against the island to stage it. I hope they move it back. The fridge pretty much is a sore thumb. Wish it had been covered. I realize the lights represent the old gas lights, but it just seems awfully busy.

There is just too much going on for me to process.

I'm beginning to like cleaner, simpler spaces, and it's a real challenge for me to deal with it in my own decorating style.

But that's another thread.

Loveeeeeeeee it; except for the water buffalo (?) head.

The picture hung over the quilt was a unique touch

I'm guessing the plates in the kitchen window are decorative and not for daily use.

I could live there... if it is 'on the beach'.
