Default 80th Floor Duplex

I can't imagine being out on those balconies.

Thursday, February 11, 2016, by AJ LaTrace

Here's a chance to own a very unique and rare penthouse at Studio Gang's Aqua in Lakeshore East. The unit is quite large at 3,500-square-feet, but the star of the show here is the wall of windows and the dramatic view that is produced by them. What makes the deal even sweeter is the sweeping balcony space that stretches all the down the length of the penthouse. This three bedroom, three and a half bathroom duplex unit is easily the size of a single family home and has a floorplan that looks similar to a standalone residence. The summer months could be pretty spectacular with the views and 80th floor outdoor space. It'll cost you though $5.95 million is what the owners are looking to get. This unit has listed just as a similar unit sold, fetching over $1,100 per square foot Crain's reports, making Aqua one of Chicago's most exclusive condo buildings.

I would love to spend a few hours on a nice summer evening on one of those balconies. But I would not pay $$$$$ to live there. Maybe if it was a hotel I might pay to spend one night there.

I would not venture on the balcony. The wind would whip a person right off! There isn't anything out there, which is a very good indication.

jimzmum - I don't keep anything on my deck and its only 1 foot off the ground. Some days its dead calm out there, other days I get 80 mile per hour winds.

On a nice, calm day I'd love to spend a couple of hours on that balcony.

There is no way I'd ever pay for a balcony that I'd never use. It makes my hands and feet sweaty just thinking about it!

Gorgeous apartment. The only things I would change are the fireplace surrounds.

Default Definitely makes you think.........

We are on the 14th floor here in Bonita Springs, FL.

Went to Fire Dept safety meeting and they instructed us to shelter in place and they will come get us. Back up plan - get to the stairwell (15' from our door) where it is under air pressure to keep out smoke so we can exit. Feel comfortable with that.

I think 80 floors would freak me out!

80 floors is high. I spent a week on the 50th floor of a building once and it was enough to make me know I don't want to permanently live that high up! Every time I went out on the balcony it was windy, and I never felt safe going close to the balcony railing.

Wonder why it is called a duplex unit? Love all of it and most of the furnishings. One thing I would not do is the 80th floor. I got the hebbie jeebies looking at the pictures.

I could happily live in that apartment- particularly if it were in my hometown, NYC. That is my dream. I like my house, and my life well enough but living in the burbs or out in the country is really not my cuppa, truth be told.
