Default Found a Rug for the Dining Room

This is the room color- "precious stone"

The porcelain floor tiles (18" x 18") are all shades of gray (the photo looks beige-ish, but they are not)

And this is the rug. I do NOT want a traditional rug, nor do I want to spend thousands on a Persian rug for food to fall on, but I hate cheap knock offs. This is not expensive, and the right size but...

We have a lot of art work for the walls- not hanging yet, but very colorful. Do you think the rug is a dark enough "anchor"?

Yes it appears in the photo to be dark enough to be a good anchor.

My concern and something to think about is how easy the chairs will slide in and out on that shaggier type of carpet. Chairs with castors might be a solution if it is a problem.

It's very pretty, and will hide any peas, which might decide to escape diner's forks. Bonus!

The tile is all in place in the dining room. Next week, tiling the kitchen then... new cabinets. I am very excited, but I am a geek. LOL

BTW- the fireplace surround is not on yet- hence the sloppy edges... I just noticed. Blush.

Hope it works for you. I love the look, but would never want such a long shag in a running room.bi find them difficult to clean and food would live in it. I'd choose a tight shag or woven style. But I deal with a 9 year old who eats like a chipmunk (and a ,d,h who isn't much better).

No kids here... ever, Fender. The rug is also inexpensive enough that if it ends up becoming too messy, I can toss it without feeling bad. I would never spend a lot of money for a dining room rug- this way if something happens I don't care as much.

I have it, but haven't unrolled it yet. We have yet to grout- we don't move too swiftly- not enough time to do everything in days that are only 24 hours. ha!
