Default O M G!

This hse should go for more considering it's Northshore, its size, on over an acre and has a swimming pool and tennis court, but I think the decor is really hurting the seller get top $$.

This $2.2M Suburban Mansion is Over the Top in Every Way

Monday, November 2, 2015, by AJ LaTrace

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and it'll certainly take a person who shares the same discerning eye love of all things flashy to find this mansion a buyer. Located in Northbrook (sorry, not South Barrington), this 8,000-square-foot home has received a complete overhaul and it's about as over the top as they get. Buzzwords sprinkled in the listing include: exquisite, flawless, superb, outstanding and elegant (among others). While many folks do dig the "opulent" look, it's hard not to scratch your head when flipping through the photos on this one and wonder what the owners were thinking. Everything is there too. Outdoor water fountain? Check. Marble cherub statue? Yep. Renaissance-themed ceiling murals? Oh yeah baby. The mansion anchors a 1.14-acre property, has an outdoor pool, tennis court and a three-car garage. It is seeking $2.2 million.

Thank goodness I don't like the exterior because the entire interior is a gut job waiting to happen--or might be once all the furniture has been removed.

Nothing a hundred gallons of Kilz, a crowbar, and a boatload of spackle can't fix.

I will stick with my 5 acres and my 2200 sq. ft. home, thank you very much. There is nothing about that house that I love, or even like very much...

It would be hard for me to relax there. I felt anxious looking at every photo. Too many details.

'Too bad there's not a way to quickly, and completely, bulldoze the inside, without hurting the outside. I could live with the outside.

I would have easily believed this house was located out of the USA. I could live with the kitchen minus the chandelier, and I love the 2 quirky checkered barrel type chairs. Everything else jars the senses.

To me it says "Play Boy Mansion " .
I know of a house that is much less decorated but it has a hot tub in the entry !

There isn't anything about that house that I care for except, maybe, a couple of the Persian rugs. The boat like bathtub gave me a laugh though.

Is that called Baroque? I do like the pastel kitchen cabinets tho. It is a bright place, just not my style.

Good grief. I'll give someone points for trying really hard though.

Yeah, that is quite bad. I would still live in it because it is a solid *not falling apart* house. Style wise it is a HUGE nope! None of those would ever be done on purpose.

The only thing I liked were those barrel chairs in black and cream.
