Default Master Bath is finished.

Well, almost. I can't find the danged bath rugs, and a few other things. The toilet paper holder has yet to be delivered. Such is life.

This has taken since July. The room went down to the studs, and lots of repairs needed to be made.
Here is the shower. It is quite large, and the bench is nice. It is wheelchair accessible if I ever need to go that way. The tile is ADA compliant as far as traction, so it doesn't get slick. A bit more money, but safer. Both wall and floor tile are not shiny, nor are they stark white. I have some lovely old china plates for the walls here and there to be hung, and they are not stark white. There are blocks in between the studs for grab bars throughout the bath where they may be necessary.

Next is my favorite thing, which is this airplane robe hanger. Found it at Marshall's in their Clearance Aisle for $7 something.

The back wall of the old bath was all windows, which was a large pain. We took them all out, and left one opening for a glass block window to allow natural light. We had this one made. Menard's did it. Great job, and a very good price. Next to it is the heated towel bar. A huge splurge.

The vanity. Man. This drove us nuts. It came on a pallet and weighs a million pounds. The stairway to the second floor has a 180 degree turn. Not fun. Took four guys to get that up, and two each for the glass sink top, and the mirror. The drawers and doors have that soft-close thing, which is nice.

The toilet. Necessary. One cool thing is the soft close lid and seat! Worth it.

All I need to do now, is to find the rugs, and go delving through china to find things for the wall. I think we will like it. Oh, we still haven't put new hardware on the door.

Ah. The rugs. The reason I can't find them is that I forgot to order them. Took care of that this morning!

I love your bathroom! I, too, am a fan of glass block. I would have used it if there were a window in mine, but the light source is the french doors leading onto the porch. The shower and floor tile is great. I'll bet that bench will get a lot of use. That's really the only other thing I would have wanted in my bathroom, but I opted for an open shower instead so I will be putting a teak seat in the shower area.

The work on mine started August 11. Yesterday my mother commented that I would probably be glad when it's finished. I told her I was now used to living like this and won't know how to behave when it's time to put the house back together. I've had a built in excuse not to do much beyond laundry, keeping the existing bathroom clean, and keeping the kitchen clean.

Classic with a touch of whimsy and ADA compliant without reeking of it.
Too bad you threw the bathroom rugs away whilst hauling out the garbage in a non inebriated state.

Can I move the Empress in?

Very classy! Mine took from August 8th until November 4th. I guess that's average.

You'll love the bench. I mostly use mine for giving Missy a bath, but I'm sure I'll be
using it, before too long. Also had a thick grab bar installed, for future use.

I love the glass blocks, but then, I also love being able to see my front yard/door, through the regular window.

Thanks to everyone! Today is really deep cleaning the bedroom, and moving back in there today or tomorrow. Then, cleaning the heck out of the whole house this week because all children are coming home next weekend for the grand flush as it were.

I do need to put the finishing touches on the GrandGirlie's redo room. I need a window treatment, and will maybe get to it.

You would not believe how difficult that was. I would call a tile store and make an appointment to look at tile. The sales person would pull out the design of tiles that I was looking for, and then i would ask if the floor tiles were ADA compliant. What? I don't know? Would you please look in the literature because it will give the numbers? (Huffy look and off they'd go.) Well, it isn't, but it is close and I can give you a good price. No, thank you.

I finally found it at a little tile shop here in our little town! The owner is in a wheelchair, and knew what I was talking about! She carries a lot of ADA compliant tile. We will never buy tile anywhere else.

The vanity was a close-out found online at Home Depot. It was hundreds of dollars cheaper than the original cost.

HD has an amazing selection online that is not available in store. It is worth the time to go on line when you are looking for something. If you find it, it can be delivered right to the store, or you can have it delivered to your home. This came on a palate right to our home.

Love it. Classic tiles are my fave. That is what we'll use in Jim's bathroom. Great work, JM.

Thanks to everyone! I just love it. It is such a pleasure to see what the guys did. I did need to buy a little vanity table and bench for our bedroom, because I just can't stand bent over to see myself in the mirror long enough to get ready. So, that is fine. Frees up space in the cabinet and my drawer.
